£30,600 per annum


SRG is working with one of Europe's biggest chemical companies supplying a wide range of chemicals across industries including food, paints, adhesives, healthcare, personal care and water treatment. As part of ongoing succession planning, they are looking for a Senior Analytical Chemist to join the team in providing analytical support to multiple departments in the business. This will involve routine and project-based analytical investigations for products, processes and environmental sampling, using techniques including ICP, GC and Ion Chromatography. The role would be well-suited to an experienced Analytical Chemist who has expertise in at least one of these techniques and some experience in method validation/development.

Role / Description

Conducting analytical investigations related to environmental samples, product or process development, production support and decommissioning
Utilising GC, ICP, Ion Chromatography, autotitrators and other equipment to undertake routine and project analysis work
Developing, trialling and validating new analytical methods to resolve problems and improve overall technical capabilities
Critically assessing analytical results, making recommendations based on data and taking action to address anomalies where required
Developing knowledge in analytical science to advise the business and other departments
Supervising and mentoring trainee analysts and students in the lab


Degree in Chemistry (or similar) OR Chemistry HND with equivalent experience
Proven, industrial experience using multiple analytical techniques, preferably with expertise in either Gas Chromatography (GC), ICP or Ion Chromatography.
Good interpersonal and communications skills, leadership skills beneficial
Able to manage projects and time effectively
Excellent appreciation of health & safety
Driving licence essential
