We are working with a Tier 1 business to recruit a new MEP Operations Director for the business.

The company are one of the leading names in the industry and are one of the best employers in the business. They turover in excess of a billion but more importantly make a profit which is re-invested in the business in new technology, social enterprise and local charitable funding and staff bonuses.

The regional office is based in Berkshire and covers the M4 corridor, South Central, South West and Bristol. In terms of clients and projects all their work is negotiated, 2 stage with clients or framework led and they have been one of the leading companies in developing and evolving framework and best practice in terms of bidding, winninga nd delivering work. They work in the education, leisure, commercial property, data centre and prison worlds and have a number of strategic clients who they negotiate directly with and schemes range in value from £10 to £90 million and are complex, challenging schemes.

Your role will be to work in the MEP team of the business and ensure that these elements of the projects are managed above and beyond industry standards – expected work values for the MEP works on their projects this year is circa £40 million.

You will be involved at PQQ and bid stage to target and identify the right schemes for the business, work with the bid team to win then devise the design strategy, programme, buildability and feasibility of each elememt of the works to be undertaken. You will work with the specialist subcontractors, clients, legal bodies and advisors to establish how, when, where etc.

Each project will have a Project Manager/Director responsible for the MEP elements and they will report directly into you and you will have overview and ultimate ownership of the teams below you.

You will be responsible for shaping the team, training and development of them and to lead by example whilst forming part of the senior management team in the region.
