An exciting opportunity has arisen for an M&E Operations Manager to join a privately owned and well-respected M&E Building Services contractor based in the Mottisfont area in Hampshire.
Our client provides Mechanical and Electrical services from Design through to Installation and Commissioning across various sectors including, Education, Healthcare, Leisure, Commercial and High-End Residential, with project values ranging from £500k up to £5m.
M&E Operations Manager:
You will need to be an experienced Operations Manager or similar role i.e. Senior M&E Contracts Manager, with extensive experience of working within the Building Services sector.
We are seeking an ambitious ‘go-getter’ with a can-do attitude and desire to achieve results, who will provide a clear focus to client service, such that the successful applicant strives to instil this in their operational team. The individual must be an assertive and positive people manager, ensuring they get the best from an operational team on a weekly basis.
The successful candidate will have the aptitude to adapt to the needs of the employees in the operational team, providing support, understanding, technical direction as needs be, in order to create a happy and high-performing team.
We seek an applicant who has the aptitude to create, develop and put into effect an operational development plan to enable the continuous improvement and growth of the operational team over the next 5 years.
Key Activities include:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with our current and future client base to encourage repeat business
Grow and maintain a steady, productive and content project management team
Have a fastidious eye for quality workmanship and set high standards for your team
Work alongside a Commercial Director to deliver the projects within the department at agreed profit level, in line with business objectives
Plan and forecast contract management and project management resource to ensure an even workload in the department
Forward plan direct labour resource, ensuring productivity is maintained on all projects
Ensuring that the requirements of customers are met in an efficient and timely manner
Health and safety champion of the operational team
Ensure financial duties with the Contracts/Project Managers are completed in time, with variations and managed in time with applications
Driving and motivating all employees and leading performance reviews, to ensure an engaged and skilled workforce.
Key skills and experience:
* Experience working for a Building Services contractor is essential
* Significant experience operating as either an Operations Manager or M&E Contracts Manager, or similar role
* Excellent communication skills
* High degree of personal motivation
* Commercial acumen
* Ability to work as part of a team supporting both the operational team and peer group
* Strong negotiation skills
* Willing and able to take responsibility
* Manage numerous activities across a number of projects simultaneously
* Full driving licence
* Base salary: £80k – £90k negotiable depending on experience
