An exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic site-based Community Experience Co-Ordinator to join a busy project team undertaking various infrastructure projects in Kent/East Sussex.
As a community experience co-ordinator, you will have demonstrable experience in the delivery of communications and engagement in a public setting. Working closely with colleagues, you will support with all aspects of the scheme, engaging with key communities and stakeholders, and dealing with events. You will be confident to lead public meetings and in dealing with challenging situations as they arise. You will support proactive communications work that influences policies, plans and decisions of key local stakeholders. You will support the project team and work closely with internal teams to maintain and deliver a communication strategy, as well as supporting our partners both internally and externally.
Contribute to the development and manage detailed communications plan.
Resolve & manage all unwanted contacts/complaints in a professional manner and to agreed SLA's.
Prepare monthly newsletters on project progress for publication to the distribution list and website.
Work with the client's communications team to identify and deliver proactive communications via social and traditional media.
Design and organise virtual or face-to-face engagement events with stakeholders to share information about the scheme. This will include an opening ceremony on completion of the scheme.
Attend virtual project progress meetings and actively participate to share progress on stakeholder engagement.
Work with the design consultants and contractors to identify opportunities to share drawings and site photographs with stakeholders.
Seek to influence customers and build strong partnerships internally and externally to maintain a positive reputation, response and effective resolution of issues.
Meet regularly with the construction team to stay abreast of upcoming activities and prepare for questions regarding the activities from the public.About You
We are seeking candidates with experience of communications and engagement and working with multiple stakeholders.
You'll be able to demonstrate:
Clear communication skills: able to produce high quality plain English letters, and engagement materials; be able to listen and negotiate; and show judgement and tact when dealing with challenging situations.
Proven successes by building and coordinating relationships with internal and external customers and partners.
Plan and execute successful events and manage our website
Ability to use social media platforms effectively
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
A positive, proactive, and hard-working attitude
